Pbs twisty take on the top five headlines of the day.
1. Swiss govt promises cooperation on black money
Mr Schneider-Amman said his government will send a state secretary for international financial matters to India on June 14 to explore enhancing cooperation on the issue.
Switzerland may have a easy time in the financial front. They do not have to go begging for FDI. Black money from all over the world comes to their banks on its own thanks to their secrecy laws. Substantial parts of this may remain unclaimed when the owner dies while maintaining secrecy.
2. Jat reservation: HC refuses to vacate stay order
For sometime now, the reservation will be in limbo. The whole of India wants to be a backward caste and get reservation. When will Brahmans start an agitation for reservation? Remember that reservation is only for Hindu castes. So Christians, Parsees, Muslims are left with less and less open seats. I would hope the Supreme court would one day quash all reservation. When special privileges are given to some, others are discriminated who do do not get the privilege. Reservations were meant to last 10 years not 70 and continuously increasing.
3. Mamata, Nitish Kumar grew with RSS support: Uma
Well said Umaji. Even Modi, Kejriwal and Amma flourished due to your grace. Even Swacchh bharat is offshoot of Ganga cleaning campaign. Had BJP workers worked really hard they could have won. Its not always easy to win on Modiji”s charisma, others have to work equally. Nitish Kumar and Mamata came at times when the public was on brink for change.
4. Mehbooba, Omar Spar in J&K Assembly Over Sainik Colony Row
Scenes of uproar were witnessed in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly over the issue of a proposed Sainik Colony in the state. Mehbooba lashed out Omar for his tweets but the former Chief Minister hit back, saying it was to make her accountable and he won’t back down from speaking on issues of public interest through the social media. Those parties opposing army colonies are ungrateful people. In any calamity or adverse condition it is military which is coming for their help. Extremists or secessionist never come for whose satisfaction these handful of politicians opposing this. Army personnel are Indian citizens have every right to stay in any part of the country.
5. Congress, AAP Demand High Level Probe Against Eknath Khadse
It was Gavande’s initial allegation that led to a series of disclosures in connection with Khadse’s land deal in Pune.
Gavande accused the minister of grabbing the industrial plot of MIDC at a very low price of around Rs 3.75 crore misusing his position when the market value of the land was to the tune of Rs 40 crore. It said the ACB was behind Khadse’s PA Gajanan Patil for the last six months, but Khadse had no idea about that.
