PB’s twisty take on the top five headlines of the day.
1. AAP-BJP spar over CAG report on AAP’s ad spending
AAP MLAs, led by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, went on an offensive following allegations made by Leader of the Opposition. Even if they do lack the funding, they have already advertised enough and the current publicity might just play out in their benefit.
2. Death toll in unrest climbs to 66 in Jammu & Kashmir
Why the count of rogue elements, why is there no portrayal of the number of security personnel who died or are injured in this turmoil. Those trying to give ideological colour to this issue, are making a serious gamble with nations security and possibly endangering innocent lives.
3. Didn’t Blame RSS For Gandhiji’s Killing: Rahul Gandhi To Supreme Court
Mr Gandhi had not blamed the RSS as an institution for the killing of the Father of the Nation, but “people associated with it”. What a convoluted apology! The Judges, if they so deem fit, may ask Mr Gandhi to spell out the names of the “associated” persons in order to place the RSS as an institution beyond the frequent calumnies of killing the Mahatma.
4. ‘As public figure, you must face criticism’: SC slams Jaya for defamation cases
Supreme court has no business to criticize how a elected CM should behave. If they have made any policy breach criticize them for that. But for their behavior weather it is Jaya, Kejriwal or Modi it is the people’s democracy which will have to give answers to them not non-elected judges.
5. Sushma Swaraj, Of Steadfast Low Profile, Given A New Role Today
Very true about the low profile and the hard work by her. But probably it was a lesson for her in the form of Lalit Modi case. Sushma Swaraj has always been an efficient and sensitive on all humanitarian aspects, and hopefully she continues to contribute in varied areas as well.
