PB’s twisty take on the top five headlines of the day.
1. SC accepts major recommendations of Lodha panel on changes in BCCI
Cricket administration has been left to a few crooked men for long. It has disadvantaged the game and the players who should be the real beneficiaries of the sport. Also betting should be legalized but monitored for scandals. This will allow the illegal betting to stop and bring revenue to the government. Purging of BCCI is absolutely necessary.
2. Navjot Singh Sidhu resigns as Rajya Sabha MP, may join AAP
Not make any difference, he is there or not. In the manner that Akalis have owned, distributed and funded the drug racket, they should not be defeated, they should be routed and vanished from the state. Down with drug peddlers. And down with BJP for being party of these criminals. But vote for whom, the drama of Arvind Kejriwal ? Or the corrupt ? This will be frustrating for the Punjab voters.
3. Kill Post Of Governors, Said Nitish Kumar To PM Modi
RS is needed as its members are elected by state elected representatives. Government needs to be there at all times in continuity. A chief minister and his bunch of ministers may or may not be there because their selfish deeds or demands, but a government is always there through the governor. You must know this. That post is there for the good and welfare of the people , not for your convenience and comfort. It is a fashion to come with this stupid demand when some other party is at centre. Find a way of correcting it, if you can and sincerely.
4. Rajya Sabha debates Kashmir, Jaitley slams Pakistan
The point of discussion is only the willingness and ability of the present government to tackle the problem. They are still learning governance by hit and trial method. Listen to Ghulam Nabi Azad, blaming the coalition of BJP-PDP for the violence. As if only congress and NC is entitled to rule Kashmir. The story of their entitlement doesn’t end with Gandhi but now even Kashmir. How people like these have survived in politics for so long is a question mark on India’s political system.
5. NGT Bans Over 10 Years Old Diesel Vehicle In Delhi
Did they have an inkling that banning something like vehicles (diesel) immediately is smart? Can this be implemented? At the same time Govt should make proper arrangement to recycle these vehicles otherwise they will be dumped or sold in the cities attaching Delhi boundary and pollute them many folds. Government should bring in help to buy schemes for the owner of those vehicles.
