PB’s twisty take on the top five headlines of the day.
1. China goes one up on India, gifts Dhaka a whopping $24 billion
Bangladesh has become a focus for the growing geopolitical rivalry between Beijing and New Delhi. Cheap financing is seen to be uncomfortable for India, especially because Bangladesh is seen to be India’s background.
2. Sidhu’s outfit and Congress try to sort out seat-sharing hurdles
The Sidhu factor might not work out. The fight is clearly between NDA and UPA and with AAP participation helping NDA in vote division. NDA might emerge as the largest alliance, but a clear majority looks unlikely.
3. Shiv Sena pitches for 2nd term for Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan
Pranab Mukherjee has been one of the progressive Presidents we have had and required since a long time. But, BJP might propose the name of L.K. Advani, since he is the senior member of the party. Shiv Sena is trying to prevent a BJP nominee for President.
4. Your Boycott Dictatorial, Not PM Modi: Minister Naidu To Muslim Law Board
India is one of the best places for Muslims where they can get the benefit of Sharia law on the civil side without having a fear or any deterrence of Sharia law on the criminal side. Hence, the protest from both sides.
5. Opinion poll shows Congress leading in Punjab
The opinion poll by Axis-My-India for India Today group said the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will be in second place, and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) alliance will trail at third position. Even though the Congress will emerge as the largest party. it will fall short of a majority. clear majority is still an unclear prospect.
