PB’s twisty take on the top five headlines of the day.
1. Subramanian Swamy breaks silence on GST, wants PM to dump pvt co managing reform
Dr Swamy is right for a change. The government had (UPA in this case) no business to hand over the entire network to private sector. Any genuine suggestions from persons irrespective of their political affiliations needs to be considered.
2. Whatever I say about PM Modi will be ‘problematic’: Raghuram Rajan
The Preamble of the Reserve Bank of India describes the basic functions of the Reserve Bank as:
“…to regulate the issue of Bank Notes and keeping of reserves with a view to securing monetary stability in India and generally to operate the currency and credit system of the country to its advantage.”he need not dance to the music of the ruling party.
3. Letters to world leaders won’t whitewash terrorism, India tells Pak
India hit out at Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday for his efforts to involve other countries and United Nations on the Kashmir issue, saying such measures will not whitewash cross-border terrorism sponsored by the neighbour. PM spends so much on foreign visits, while Pak checkmates with simple letters!
4. Stop sympathising, act against Dalit attackers: Mayawati tells PM Modi
Frankly speaking no party leaders had ever sympathized with the Dalits in their states. The state CMs are scarred to antagonize the OBCs and the ocs because of vote bank politics. It is a matter of shame that the dalits are still in the BPL. Unfortunately those who got converted to other religions also face similar problems.
5. BJP to Get a Boost in Uttar Pradesh, More Leaders to Join Party
At least some leaders from BSP,SP and Congress have made it a point that they would not be fooled by Dalit, Muslim vote bank policies of these parties.
