1. Modi impact! Switzerland to ease tax info norms on black money
These things are better said done. As for as the Switzerland is concerned , it has been forced to fall in line in compliance by the US since 2008, and this is an ongoing process pushed by US and Europe. In the beginning they dilly dallied on the issue but under the relentless pressure mounted on the country by them, they started wilting. Now the money laundering issue has become global and most of the countries are complying with the norms.
2. Congress made us lose power in M’rashtra: Pawar
NCP supremo was once considered to be Prime Ministerial candidate, a strong one at that. But it was Congress which got a majority of seats among the allies in Lok Sabha polls in 2009. Now the deep disappointment. But what is the use of talking about the loss of power when the horses have bolted.
3. Centre to invest Rs 75K cr to augment road infra in UP
Good move but if it is election gimmick, as BJP is short of CM face the idea may not work. Bihar package seemed to have failed to impress the voters. The promises made to the divided state of AP proved how conveniently and easily the promises can be broken when once they have crossed the bridges.
4. Priyanka’s Likely Political Plunge Creates Ripples in Political Circle
A more active role by Priyanka, Congress insiders believe, will help cement the family’s primacy in the party and energise the rank and file, most of whom have greater faith in her pugnaciousness than her brother. There are even speculations that Priyanka Vadra is likely to contest the 2019 Lok Sabha Polls.
5. No dearth of capable faces to lead BJP, says Rajnath Singh
Speculation is rife ahead of BJP’s national executive meeting in Allahabad that Singh could play a “lead role” in the party campaign for the UP polls even if he is not declared the choice for the top political office in the state.
