PB’s twisty take on the top five headlines of the day.
1. UNSC unresponsive: India’s reaction on Azhar | ‘Pak may push 100 terrorists in J&K’
Akbaruddin deserves appreciation for taking the unresponsive UNSC for ignoring the call to name Masood Azar to brand as terrorist. It is surprising that diplomacy of India does not work with china in-spite of our common huge trade and ancient cultural ties.
2. Likely reshuffle of Mehbooba ministry soon
The issue came up for discussion when Mehbooba Mufti called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Balancing on the edge, but the national mainstream support is with PDP which showed the courage against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.
3. Can’t end poverty with tanks: Sharif to PM Modi
You can appreciate Sharif’ saying that Kashmiris have to be given freedom to self determine. India on its part conducts election in Indian side of Kashmir every 5 years and allow them to determine. Does Pakistan do the same?
4. Commodities: Gold edges up | Oil prices rise
Oil has been just favoring the bears the last couple of years and the future seems to be no good for oil. The current data is so bad as you can see that it has to survive on jawboning any more for higher prices which at most provides just a temporary relief to the bulls.
5. Army, Intel Experts Caution Against Sharing Footage Of Surgical Strikes
You may have different political preferences yet on issues like national security, please maintain some decorum. Operational details will be revealed if the footage is made public and can compromise Indian security forces.
