PB’s twisty take on the top five headlines of the day.
1. Subsidised LPG price hiked by Rs 1.93 per cylinder
Out of Rs.45 subsidy claimed on LPG, actual transfer is near zero due to state taxes, might as well remove it. There is no subsidy on LPG cylinders. It is purely accounting fraud thrust upon us.
2. Hafiz Saeed warns of nationwide protest on Rajnath Singh’s arrival in Pakistan
Appeals to force are still in fashion in Pakistan and force continues to be regarded as the most convincing argument when it comes to world politics. Intergovernmental summits are supreme and attendees meet to discuss on way forward to make the region strong and robust in all spheres of discussion. Disruptive force of one country is less formidable than the combined strength of participating countries and hence cannot threaten leaders from participation.
3. Sohrabuddin Sheikh murder case – Amit Shah gets relief from SC
Kapil Sibal appearing for Mader itself tells clearly that it is politically motivated. Why they cannot accept the court verdict? If any court clears any of the Congress guys then they say they welcome the court verdict but in this case they are not ready to accept. Harsh Mander is running an NGO and was an important member of the Sonia appointed NAC, during UPA 1.
4. Parrikar’s comments on Aamir Khan create ruckus in Rajya Sabha
10,000 Indians are starving in Saudi Arabia. We are losing our soldiers fighting against minorities. China is provoking Indian territories. Our so called MPs are not bothered about these issues of national interest but are carried away by vote bank politics. Freedom of expression applies to defense minister too. Support the country you live in or live in country you support.
5. All Because Of AAP, Gloats Arvind Kejriwal As Anandiben Quits
I am glad she has the capacity and insight into seeing that she may have short comings and needs to go. There are plenty of CMs up and down the country, who are corrupt and have messed the system to hang on to power for their short sighted personal gains.
